Dimapur, September 15 (MExN): The student community of Khelhoshe Polytechnic, Atoizu staged a protest in the institution to show their displeasure over the “unconcerned attitude” of the Directorate of Technical Education.
The Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu Students Union (KPASU) president and general secretary in a press release stated that regular classes are totally paralyzed as majority of the teaching faculty, comprising of fixed pay lecturers are agitating by not taking class since September 11, 2017 till date due to non-payment of salary for last (six) months i.e. since March 2017, leading to shortage of lecturers in some department.
However, the fixed pay faculty has decided to temporarily suspend the agitation till September 20, 2017 after getting some positive response from the higher authority.
The KPASU added that “if no tangible solution is reached within the given stipulated time, putting the career and future of the students at stake, the students' community should be compelled to resort to drastic measures.”
