Monthly sales day of agri product in Kiphire inaugurated

Sharing his dreams for the monthly sales day of agricultural product to progress, Dr Tinojungshi Chang said, “with all the potential that the district has, Kiphire can become organic district because the climate, soil and weather is suitable for any crops and if we can harness all this, the agricultural products harvested can suffice the demand of the citizens in the district.”
Additional Deputy Commissioner and Town Councilor, Kiphire Dr Tinojungshi Chang inaugurated the monthly sales day of agricultural product at Daily Market in Kiphire on April 8. Jointly organized by the District Administration and the Agri & Allied and Land Resources Department, only organic produce are sold during the sales day.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, Dr Tinojungshi Chang said that the objective of the organizing the sales day is to encourage the farmers as the district has more than 70-80% and to let the citizens enjoy the organic product which is fresh and healthy.
He also appreciated the SHGs and farmers from different villages under Kiphire block for taking part in the programme by selling the agri products. He also added that everything comes from Dimapur and “if this trend goes on we will no longer depend on Dimapur for our daily basic needs.”
Lankonsen Tsanglao SDO (C) who chaired the programme said that the sales day will happen every month, every second Friday and the participants will be rotated block wise.
He also asked the farmers and SHGs taking part in the sales day to come forward even in the days ahead as it will surely help in economic growth as well.
Farmers from Kiphire block are taking part in this sales day programme.
It may be mentioned that the monthly sales day Agri Product was initiated by the Amahator area farmers club which was sponsored by the Land Resources Department Kiphire.
