Kiphire GBs demand justice from NSCN (IM)

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 14 (MExN): The GBs Court of Kiphire Town has issued a ‘final’ memorandum of 30 days to the NSCN (IM) to deliver justice on the Zanger village massacre of February 8, 2007 and warned that on failure to meet their demand, the Kiphire District GB Association (KDGBA), would not co-operate with the NSCN (IM). The appeal issued by the Secretary GBs of Court Kiphire Town, Selithong stated that the Kiphire District GBs’ Association has already approached the NSCN (IM) government several times for justice to the victim family and for the arrest of the culprits who are directly in that murder, including the faction’s top functionaries, Tsulimthong- Dy. Director NSCN (IM), Y.Alo Rajapeyo, Molonikaq range T.M C. Region NSCN (IM) and      Joyba, son of Yapmali, Leacy YMC region NSCN (IM).

The Association stated that it has come to the knowledge of the NSCN (IM) that the above mentioned functionaries were directly involved in the Zanger murder and demanded to know what action had been taken against them. It said that Y. Alo Rajapeyu, who tried to murder Khehoto Rajapeyu was arrested by on October 2, 2006 by the GBs of Kiphire Town and was tried at this traditional court, however the NSCN (IM) criticized their verdict and the case was kept in abeyance. After escaping the traditional court judgment, it alleged that Alo participate the cold-blooded murder at Zanger Village.

In the case of Tsulimthong, the Deputy Director of NSCN (IM), who is called the ‘gang leader’ of that incident, the Association said that he had provided shelter to the culprits of the Zanger murder  and led the culprits to join FGN. Those very culprits came back to attack J. C. Battalion (Salomi) and shot dead one cadre of the NSCN (IM) and on their next attack at Liusam, one cadre was shot dead. The release further stated that Joyba (S/O Yapmuri) was holding his father’s gun (Pistol) during the Zanger killing incident and the KDGBA stated that in their knowledge, an NSCN (IM) functionary should not let any one use the government weapon in any manner. In this light, the GBs demanded to know what action had been taken against them by the NSCN (IM).

Saying that the KDGBA is loosing its confidence on the NSCN (IM) Government for not delivering the justice in time, the release lashed out that ‘Justice delayed is justice denied’. It accused the NSCN (IM) of turning a deaf ear to the cry for justice and demanded to know “Why behind the back door their own top functionaries are murdering the innocent people in cold blood” when they were pronouncing Nagaland for Christ and delivering speech for peace, harmony and unification among the Naga brothers.

Saying that God is also there to deliver justice against “your government take very serious, for very minor crimes”. It demanded to know why they were neglecting this case when 7 persons of a family had been kidnapped and murdered. The release stated that the KDGBA is seriously concern in this issue for finding the facts as late. Throngtsangkiu, who was murdered in that very incident along with his five sons and one brother, had been the head GB of Zanger Village. The KDGBA stated that  as one of it member had been murdered the organization had approached the NSCN (IM) fact finding team, submitted all the relevant documents, verbally discussed in connection to this very issue but till now the NSCN (IM) could not deliver justice to them. It expressed doubt that ‘may be some individual might have bribed the IM govt.’ and added that if it was so, “ then the image of IM government is critically damaged and shall be considered a cheap govt. when your top functionaries are involved in murdering/killing of innocent people.”
