The Legend FC today lifted the Capt Kenguruse, MVC Memorial Football Trophy organised by the 7 Assam Rifles with a 3-1 victory over Abide FC.
The champions walked away with a trophy, certificate and a cash prize of Rs 25,000 while the runner-up team went home with certificate and a cash prize of Rs 15,000.
The Legend FC struck early in the match by scoring two goals and dominating the game in the first half.
When the match resumed in the second half, Legend FC scored another goal to comfortably seal the fate of the match. In reply, the Abide FC managed to score one goal in the second half.
In the individual categories, Thronjumong of Abide FC was awarded the best goal keeper while Alum Tep of Legend FC was awarded the highest goal scorer. Aohocho of Viking united was awarded the most promising upcoming player.
They were awarded cash prize as well as certificate for their achievement.
All together 11 team took part in the tourney and the winners and the runner-up will represent the district in the state level Capt Kenguruse MVC Memorial Football Trophy.
