Kiphire: Medical dept conducts sensitisation programmes

Kiphire, February 18 (MExN): Medical Department in Kiphire conducted sensitisation programmes on COVID-19 vaccination for D Coy IRB and 14th IRB Hq in Kiphire on February 18.

The first sensitisation programme was conducted at D Coy IRB station, New Reserve in Kiphire town with Dr Moangangba Jamir, Senior Dental Surgeon, District Hospital Kiphire, as the resource person. 

During his address, the doctor spoke about the importance of the COVID-19 vaccine, wherein, he said the vaccine covishield is safe and found to be quite effective. He appealed the gathering to do away with unfounded rumours about the vaccine and come forward to receive the vaccine.
The programme concluded with a question session, during which the doctor clarified the questions and doubts raised by the personnel.

The second sensitisation programme was held at District Hospital Kiphire conference hall, with Dr Pewezo Khalo, DPO (RCH/UIP) and Mongkoyanchu Chang, Commandant 14th NAP (IR) Battalion as resource persons.

Dr Pewezo Khalo, in his sensitisation message, said the COVID-19 vaccine is scientifically proved for its safety and efficacy, for which, they shouldn’t have any scepticism toward the vaccine. He said the government of India has spent their resources only to save its citizens and that they should avail the opportunity when it is provided for free. He underscored accepting the positive message and to do away with rumour about the Covid-19 vaccine.

Meanwhile, Mongkoyanchu encouraged his personnel to be positive about the vaccine and get vaccinated for their safety and the safety of the community. He mentioned that they may be sent out for duty anytime to various parts of the state and even out of the state, so he advised the personnel that taking the vaccine was the safest way to protect them from the disease.
