Kire urges labour department to be sincere

Parliamentary secretary for labour & employment Dr. Nicky Kire today asserted that it would not be difficult to meet the empanelment of hospitals for smart card holders under health insurance schemes (Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana) in the state.

He was responding to the need for proper linkage of hospitals for effective implementation of health insurance coverage, and also to ensure that the beneficiaries take full advantage of the scheme.

There are more than 3 lakh beneficiaries under RSBY in the state. RSBY was launched by the Ministry of Labor and Employment, Government of India, to provide health insurance coverage for below poverty line (BPL) families.

Meeting the officers and staff of the Directorate of Labour here this morning, Dr. Kire also assured to take up the matter pertaining to the shortage of manpower in the department and at the same time called upon the department to be sincere.

He told the officers that he will first visit the labour and employment offices across the state to acquaint himself with the latest position and affairs of the department and act and work upon it accordingly.

Also stressing on the need to have frequent interaction, he maintained that getting known each other will create better working atmosphere and change for better.

L. Nungshiyanger Aier, Joint Labour Commissioner (HoD) in his welcome address highlighted some problems being faced by the department and expressed the hope that parliamentary secretary for labour and employment would address the same and take the department forward.

He also extended “happy and prosperous life” to Amardeep S. Bhatia, the outgoing Commissioner Secretary of the Labor department who is going on deputation to Delhi.

Amardeep S. Bhatia also spoke on the occasion while the function was chaired by T. Chubayanger, project Officer.
