Dimapur, July 19 (MExN): H. Haiying, Advisor for Prisons, Printing & Stationery and Dr Longriniken Advisor for Law & Justice, Border Affairs and Treasuries & Accounts, Government of Nagaland met Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju at New Delhi on July 19.
A press release from Kuolie Mere, PRO (IPR) New Delhi said that during the meeting with the Union Minister, Haiying apprised the Home Minister on the present condition of central jail at Dimapur and ten sub-jails in the district of Nagaland.
He further submitted a proposal for the modernization and infrastructure development of central jail Dimapur and district sub-jails in the state, establishment of a women jail at Dimapur, construction of modern jail in Dimapur and construction of open prisons in Dimapur and Kohima.
Haiying also appealed the Union Minister to look into the proposal matter with top priority, the release added.
The Union Minister Rijiju further taking note on the issue raised by the two Advisor said, “He will take up the matter seriously with the concerned ministry for sanctions.”
The team also met the Central ministry, Director for printing ministry of Urban Development and held a meeting with the Printing and Stationery Department in the presence of the Printing Ministry, Advisor and his officers’ team at Printing and Stationery Department.
During the meeting, the need for modernisation of government printing press infrastructures in the state was discussed. The advisors also requested the ministry to extend any possible help in infrastructure, as well as human resource development in skill labour training to operate the latest machineries in digital printing.
The Ministry Director advised them to use the latest equipment for catering the needs of assembly session and government department publication materials. The ministry also said that any possible help will be extended to the state. The Advisor was accompanied by his official team Joint Director, Deputy Director and Assistant Director.
