Kisan Gosthi: Farmers educated on crop insects & diseases

Dimapur, January 21 (MExN): Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Dhansiripar block organised Kisan Gosthi at AK Industrial village on January 19.  

Farmers were enlightened about the functions of ATMA and its activities being carried out under Dhansiripar block by Moainla, Block Technology Manager (BTM), ATMA during the event.  

With an objective to provide technical know-how to the farmers regarding management of vegetable crops based on weather, soil and water to increase crop productivity, a field visit was also carried out.  

Moainla informed the farmers about insects and diseases of different vegetable crops and advised them to use suitable pest management practices in proper time.  

She also advocated the use of polyhouse for raising healthy nursery and emphasis was given on use of FYM, green manure and crop rotation, a press release informed.  

She further encouraged the farmers to think beyond the present situation and put effort in transforming their lives. Altogether, 18 farmers attended the Gosthi. Small tools for weeding and hoeing were distributed to the them.
