Kivi Zhimomi selected in Indian National Football Team Under-23

Dimapur, July 21 (MExN): The Minister of PHED, Jacob Zhimomi felicitated Kivi Zhimomi on his recent selection in Indian National Football Team Under-23. While congratulating Kivi on his achievement, Jacob said that Kivi is one of the first Naga footballers to secure in Indian national team since the first Naga, Dr. T Ao, who captained Indian Team at 1948 London Olympic.  

The Minister also lauded Kivi Zhimomi for being the first Naga to score in prestigious Indian Hero League while playing for Gokulam Kerela Football Club and also the first Naga footballer to be picked by one of the ISL franchise team Northeast United FC earlier this year. The Minister further wishes Kivi for future endeavor and upcoming matches.  

A press release received here informed that Kivi’s first goal came against the Chennai FC, he then went on to score his second and third goal against Shillong Lajong and the East Bengal respectively. It is said that Kivi will leave for Delhi by the end of this month to attend the national coaching camp which is from July 28- August 17 and on the following day he will leave for Australia along with the national team for exposure trip.  

The Indian team will be defending the South Asian Football Federation Cup (SAFF) at Bangladesh from September 4 to 15, 2018.
