KLSU ‘empowering new generation’ on fresher’s day

Kohima, September 2 (MExN): Kohima Lotha Student’s Union (KLSU) under the theme ‘Empowering New Generation’ celebrated its 45th fresher’s day on August 31 at Molu Ki, Paramedical Colony, Kohima.


A press release issued by Yanrenthung J Humtsoe Media Incharge, KLSU stated that Renphamo Kikon, Joint Director, Department of Agriculture, Government of Nagaland was the special guest, and Er. Lichon Patton, Sub-Divisional Officer, Directorate of Public Health Engineering was the guest of honour. 


The programme chaired by Lijanbeni Kikon commenced with an invocation by Mhonchumo S Lotha, Pastor KLBC, followed by a welcome song by the Lotha student’s of Kohima College. 


Yanrenthung, in his address emboldened the students to make use of one’s own talent, exploring various avenues and opportunities that are available on various platforms. He urged the community on checking social menace as well as maintaining cordial relationship with other communities creating an atmosphere of peace and harmony. He gave a brief highlight on the importance of health, education and food.


Er. Lichon in his address motivated the students through his own personal experience about having a golden life. He encouraged the student’s to accept challenges that encourages having potential towards achieving one’s career. He expressed that setting high goals with high dreams will ultimately achieve one’s goal on time. He laid a remark that individual effort, dedication and hard work are as important as having a golden life. He further urged the students to be sincere and committed towards the journey of golden life.


Short speeches were also delivered by Libemo Tsopoe, President LSU; Kohima Lotha Hoho and Kohima Lotha Eloe Ekhung. Earlier the programme also witnessed a special appearance from Mhayani Kikon and Phyobemo Khuvung. The programme adjoined with the second session hosted by Areni Tungoe and Longshithung N Ngullie wherein rounds for KLSU Mr & Miss Fresher, 2019 was held where Meribemo & Wonjano were adjudged KLSU Mr and Miss Fresher 2019 respectively.
