Kohima, August 29 (MExN): The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) today issued a clarification that the office has not authorized any individual or group for the sale of “non-woven poly propylene carry bags” in Kohima and that “such activity is unauthorized, non-permissible and illegal.” KMC Administrator Kovi Meyase in a notification said that certain individual/group were reportedly selling “non-woven white poly propylene bag” in Kohima in the guise of having been authorized by the KMC. These non-woven white carry bags are made from poly propylene, which is a thermo plastic polymer and therefore not plastic free, it informed. And thus, in line with the government ban from all single-use plastic, this bag also falls within the category of banned plastic items, the Administrator added.
