Kohima, April 27 (MExN): The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has directed the public not to open their septic tanks into the drains. All the ward chairmen have been directed to be vigilant and initiate immediate needful action to put a halt to such indecent practices within their respective jurisdictions.

The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has designated garbage collection points spread across the town. Specific times have also been assigned for dumping of garbage at those locations. However, despite numerous reminders, there are some locations where certain individuals falling under different wards are habitually dumping garbage beyond the assigned timings and designated collection points, i.e; above district jail gate- Old Minister’s Hill, Kohima war Cemetery- Midland, TCP Gate- New Market, Keziekie opp, Koinonia BC- North Block, Above Old Vety office- North Block, Above M/S Sekhose PP- High School, infront of Yhome Gas Agency- High School, Near Pay and use toilet - High School and near GHS entrance- High school. The KMC notified those wards in particular and all others in general that henceforth if such acts are repeated, stringent corrective measures will be initiated against the individual (s) and wards.
