Wokha, December 22 (MExN): Kyong Naga Cultural Society (KNCS) inaugurated its branch in Pangti village under Wokha district on December 16 at Yondon Youth Association’s office.
Jenithung N Shitiri, chairman, Pangti Village Council attended the event as the chief guest, while Bijamo Yanthan, Associate Pastor, Pangti Baptist Church dedicated the branch office.
The chief guest thanked KNCS for rendering their selfless service for the Lotha Nagas to educate to the young ones to preserve and promote “our” culture, informed a press release.
Zubemo Kithan, Chairman, Governing Body & President KNCS Oking Kohima, speaking on the aims of the Society said, “Our culture is our identity, so it’s a high time for us to research, preserve and to promote our culture.”
Yanpo Ezung, former president, KNCS Wokha branch also spoke and encouraged the new team to accept every challenge, obstacle and overcome them, the release said.
The programme, attended by various organization elders, Lotha Hoho Advisor and well wishers, was chaired by Lochumbeni Murrypvüi.
The KNCS Pangti branch office bearers will be led by Openthung Odyuo as president, T Mhathung Patton as vice president, and Orenthung Jami as general secretary.
