Well known evangelist, Dr Kethoser Kevichusa today called upon the youths to listen to God’s calling and surrender their lives to God so the Lord can use their lives for his glory.

Dr Kevichusa, who was one of the main speakers at the three-day ‘Zunga Telemsa Retreat’ organized by Mokokchung Town Baptist Church – Youth Department on the theme ‘Soul Focus’, spoke about God’s calling at the afternoon session.

While saying that God’s calling is to “recover, discover and rediscover” oneself, Dr Kevichusa said ‘the calling’ is not about calling to do something superior or sacred works, nor is it about doing some mudane or boring work; but it is a calling by God to do anything and everything.

In this regard, he said that ‘calling’ happens when there is a ‘caller’, in this case the God. He therefore said that if one really wants to know God’s calling, then one must surrender oneself to God.

Calling is about doing something which has been given to do, he stated, adding that everyone has something (talent or gift) in his/her hands. He noted that God mostly uses young people in his works.

“Christianity is not only about morality, but about surrendering, exploring, discovering, rediscovering and doing big things in life though their vocation or profession in life,” he added. Even during Jesus’ time, people doubted whether any good would come out of Nazareth, but then came the Lord; likewise, he said if people doubt something good will come out of Nagaland, the answer is yes something good will happen, and expressed hope in the youths.

Rev. C. Teyong Kichu, Missionary, was the speaker at the evening closing session. He was also the speaker for the Cadet Club at the three-day retreat. The MTBA Worship Team and For the King were the two worship teams for the retreat.
