Kohima/ Mokokchung, September 14 (MExN): An inter high-school Sepaktakraw (Regu Event) tournament for boys and girls under 14 has been scheduled to take place during the first week of October 2023 for Kohima and Mokokchung.
This was announced by their respective District Sports Officers, who mentioned that all High Schools have been requested to confirm their participation in the tournament.
Kohima district:
For Kohima district, players can obtain the application forms from the District Sports Office, Kohima IG Road, starting from September 18, during regular office hours. The tournament will take place on October 7, at 10 AM, hosted at the IG Stadium in Kohima.
Players must be below 14 years of age and born on or after October 19, 2009, to be eligible for participation. Five players from both Boys and Girls categories will be selected during this tournament to represent Kohima District at the upcoming State Level Inter High School Sepaktakraw Tournament (Regu Event), scheduled for October 16th to 19th, 2023, at the IG Stadium in Kohima.

Each District team will consist of 5 Boys and 5 Girls players, accompanied by Officials (Manager and Coach). Athletes are required to provide their original Aadhaar card and a bonafide student certificate duly signed by the Head of the Institution during the verification process. Travel Allowance (TA) and Daily Allowance (DA) are not applicable for the District Tournament.
First prize: Rs 5,000/- for Boys and Rs 5,000/- for Girls. Second prize: Rs 3,000- for Boys and Rs 3,000- for Girls.
Mokokchung district:
Meanwhile for Mokokchung district, players wishing to participate must complete their registration on or before September 22. It was also mentioned that the two best teams (one Boys’ team and one Girls’ team) from the tournament will get the opportunity to represent their district at the State Level Tournament.
Prizes for the district level tournament have been set at: Winners- Rs 5000/- (Boys and Girls) and Runner-up- Rs. 3000/- (Boys and Girls)
Tournament rules: each team must comprise of 5 players, along with a manager and coach.
Participants are required to present their Aadhar card and a bonafide student certificate duly certified by the Head of the Institution during the verification process.
Furthermore, it was mentioned that travel allowance (TA) and daily allowance (DA) will be provided as per the Government-approved rates for those participating in the State Level Tournament.
