Kohima and Mon prepare for Republic Day

Kohima/Mon, January 16 (DIPR): A meeting pertaining to work distribution and ground arrangement etc for the celebration of Republic Day 2018 was held at Deputy Commissioner's conference hall in Kohima on January 15.  

Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, Rajesh Soundararajan (IAS), who chaired the meeting, highlighted various roles and responsibilities to be performed by different departments for the Republic Day celebration in Kohima on January 26.

  He requested all the concerned departments to take care of their respective responsibilities in order to have a successful Republic Day celebration.  

The meeting also discussed on the participation of various departments and organizations with regard to parade contingents, demonstration, cultural troupes, exhibition stalls, tug of war, football, brass band and pipe band.  

Visit to institutions by various organizations was also discussed. In this, the DC informed that final arrangement will be made and intimated to the organizations.  

Mon: A special meeting for allocation of works for the Republic Day celebration, 2018 was also held on January 16 at DC’s conference hall, Mon. K. Thavaseelan, (IAS), Deputy Commissioner, Mon requested the Heads of Offices who have been assigned specific tasks to extend their fullest co-operation and leave no stone unturned for the success of the programme. 

The DC further directed all Government offices to hoist the National Flag at 6:30 am on January 26. All Government officials and staff employed under Mon district have also been directed to be present at the Local Ground by 8:30 am on January 26. All shops and business establishments are also to remain closed till 12:00 pm that day.
