KOHIMA, MAY 30 (DIPR): Farewell programme for outgoing Deputy Commissioner, R Ramakrishnan IAS was held today at Zonal Council Hall, Kohima.
Speaking on the occasion, SDO (S), Thejawelie Gregory described R Ramakrishnan IAS as a simple and an honest officer who stands out distinctly above others due to his humanity and selflessness. He said that the outgoing DC has earned the love and respect of the people of the district and the officers working under him have also received a lot of encouragement during his short tenure. Stating that the credit for all the achievements made goes to the outgoing DC, Thejawelie Gregory expressed his gratitude to the DC on behalf of all the administrative officers and also for making them more responsible towards their duties.
Chairman, Kohima Municipal Council, Menuovilie is his speech said that through the support of the outgoing DC, the KMC has been able to initiate a lot of developmental works. He said that the outgoing DC always had a clear conscience while taking decisions since he never let his personal opinions interfere in his official decisions. While welcoming the new DC, Sachopra Vero, the Chairman hoped that he will usher in a lot of new changes and developments.
Project Director, DRDA, Hillo Semp also appreciated the outgoing DC for always being accessible in times of need and for his deep concern for the upliftment of the villagers. He said that R Ramakrishnan was always fair in his dealings and the Department could achieve a lot at the grassroots level due to his support. Head Dobashi and Superintendent, Kamei also spoke on the occasion.
Outgoing Deputy Commissioner, R Ramakrishnan IAS said that it was a privilege to be to be posted in Kohima district stating that posting in the district is a big responsibility for an administrative officer and he could perform his duties satisfactorily due to the support and cooperation of officers of various departments and the people of the district. He lauded the administrative officers for maintaining good teamwork and hoped that they would also contribute their best in future as well. He also thanked the NGOs, various departments like the RD Department, School Education, DPO office, KMC etc for all their support while undertaking a number of developmental works in the district. He further hoped that the new DC, Sachopra Vero will be an able officer and would do justice for the people of Kohima district.
The new Deputy Commissioner, Sachopra Vero, in his short speech, sought the cooperation of all concerned in carrying out the duties and responsibilities effectively. The programme was chaired by ADC Kohima, Zeneituo Yano.
