Kohima citizens told to shop essential needs from within their colony only

Kohima, May 22 (MExN): Kohima Deputy Commissioner Gregory Thejawelie has informed the public to shop their essential needs from within their colony only.

Kohima DC informed that vegetable, fish/meat vendors, milk booths, bakeries, local grocery stores including those that sell animal feed shops in wards/ colonies are permitted to open from 6:00 am to 12:00 noon on alternate days viz. May 24, 26 and 28 by strictly ensuring COVID-19 appropriate behaviour.

Further, wholesale shops in BOC, Supermarket and High School Area are also permitted to open from 6:00 am to 12:00 noon on alternate days viz. May 24, 26 and 28 by strictly ensuring COVID-19 appropriate behaviour.

The opening of wholesale shops in those BOC, Supermarket and High School Area have been allowed in order to maintain the supply chain to the shops in the colonies s/wards and villages.

All shops/business establishments except those mentioned located along the highway including the road stretch from PR Hill junction to Jail Colony, and main market areas like BOC, High School Junction, Supermarket and Keziekie ete. are to remain closed without any exception, stated Kohima DC in an order.

Hotels for lodging shall be allowed to remain open with minimum staff.

All restaurants shall remain closed for dine-ins, takeaways and home delivery.

Earlier, Kohima DC has in a notification ordered that in pursuance to Home Department order dated May 20 and in compliance to the State Government directive, the total lockdown shall continue to remain operative  in Kohima District till May 31.

All other directives shall remain as per earlier order.
