Kohima College Kohima 50th College Week from December 11

Kohima, December 10 (MExN): Kohima College Kohima is all set to kick off its 50th College Week on December 11 under the theme ‘Seeking New Horizons’. Organised by the Kohima College Students' Council (KCSC), Principal Dr. Watijungshi Jamir will be chief host and Vice Principal Thinuokhrienuo Tseikha will be the host of the event which will conclude on December 15.  

The first day will be Literary Day, which will be graced by Sarah R Ritse, Secretary, School Education as the guest speaker. It will be marked by literary competitions like essay writing, poetry writing, storytelling, extempore speech, vernacular, debate, dance and singing competitions etc, KCSC informed in a press release.  

The second day will have Naga Wrestling, where 46 wrestlers have confirmed to wrestle for the Jubilee Champ. Reigning champion Küchohü Cürha and the fourth position holder of last College Week Vedukho Shijoh are also set to take part in the event.  

Neivikuolie N Khatsü, President, Nagaland Wrestling Association will grace the event as special guest. The press release noted that the wrestling champ will walk home with Rs.15,000, 2nd- Rs. 10,000, 3rd- Rs. 8,000 and 4th- Rs. 5,000.  

The third, fourth and fifth day will witness athletics, football (men), volleyball (men & women), cricket (men) and other indoor games as well. On the final day, Abija Khing, Executive Engineer, PWD Roads & Bridges, will grace the event as guest of honor.  

The teams for the 50th College Week are Silver, Gold, Platinum & Diamond. The last hour of the College Week will be hosted with a mass pre-Christmas feast, the release added.
