Kohima College’s 49th parting social held

Our Correspondent Kohima | March 8   The Kohima College Kohima today held its 49th parting social at the college auditorium with Neihu C. Thur, IAS, home commissioner Nagaland as the chief guest.   Established in 1967, presently the Kohima College house 1471 students.   Speaking on the occasion, Thur called upon the students to excel in their respective fields and be an asset to Naga society. He also called upon them to have a clear and define vision, adding “The future belong to you.” “Believe in yourself,” he urged the students and at the same time told them to have commitment of “I can do it and I will surely do it.” Thur also called upon the students to have confident and exercise sincerity and hard work to achieve their desired goal.  

Meanwhile, Ralu has been conferred with the coveted title of “Student of the Year” while Vimeyiekho Vitso bagged as “Best Class representative.”   The College also honoured six other students- Asenou Terhuja for bagging third position at the 10th Inter –collegiate debate competition organized by Sazolie College, Ralu for winning first position in the debate competition on clean election organized by District Election Officer, Kohima, Temjenchila for bagging third position in the essay competition during ANCSU 17th biennial general conference, Eangchi Konyak for securing first position in the inter-college debate competition during vigilance awareness week, Vekuvolu for winning two Marathon race (Ist position) during Digital Week and Run for Republic Day and Thenon Konyak for winning “Naga Orpheus Hunt Session 10.”   Earlier, welcome address was delivered by Kohima College principal Dr. Watijunshi Jamir. Thenon Konyak, Alen & Medo presented special numbers while annual report was given by Kohima College Students’ Union general secretary N. Lhepong Konyak. Asenuo Theruja and Vimeyiekho Vitso also delivered speech on the occasion. Rev. Ketouzo Theiinuo, senior pastor Cross Wonder Church Kohima prayed for outgoing students.   The function was chaired by Imtisenla Longkumer while vote of thanks was proposed by Kohima College Students’ Union assistant general secretary Chimongthii.
