Chandmari HSS, Northfield in Pool B final

Chandmari Higher Secondary School Kohima and Northfield Kohima today found semi-finals berths after winning their respective quarterfinal matches of the ongoing 2nd Kohima District Inter-School Football Tournament here under the aegis of Royal Club Kohima in association with school education department and youth resources & sports, Nagaland. With the win, Chandmari HSS will take on Northfield in the Pool B final on Friday.
After the Pool Finals, the winner of Pool-A will compete with the loser of Pool-B and the loser of Pool-A will compete with the winner of Pool-B in their respective semi-final matches.
In the first match, Chandmari HSS edged out St. Mary's Cathedral HSS via tie breaker 3-2 after the match ended 2-2 in the stipulated time.
Venu-o scored the first goal in the 6th minute for Chandmari to take the lead. The equalising goal for St Mary’s came through the boots of Veposhu in the 39th minute to end the first half 1-1.
In the second half, it was St. Mary’s Cathedral HSS side who took the lead with Supongyanger scored the second for St Mary’s in 71 minute. But in the dying minutes, Venu-o scored again in the injury added time to equalised the scoreline for Chandmari HSS. In the extra time both team failed to score as the match ended in a penalty shootout.
In the penalty, Chandmari HSS defeated St. Mary's Cathedral via tie breaker 3-2.
Northfield blanked G. Rio School 4-0 in the last quarterfinal match of the tournament.
Kethosenyu scored two goals in the 6th minute and 30 minute. Franky Khing scored the third goal in the 62 minute while fourth goal was scored by Ashebo in the 70th minute.
