
Kohima, April 30 (MExN): An emergency meeting of Kohima District Task Force (DTF) on COVID-19 under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kohima Gregory Thejawelie in presence of Minister in-charge of Kohima District Minister PWD (Housing and Mechanical), Tongpang Ozukum was held in DC's Conference Hall Kohima on April 29.
The meeting was convened to decide certain measures to be implemented in the district by the DTF as per the consolidated guidelines issued by the State government, a DIPR report stated.
On regulation of entry point at Khuzama Check Gate, DTF decided Sr SP Kohima to regulate and implement necessary measure for the commuters.
The DTF also decided to open ways for other organizations besides the All Kohima Ward Municipal Panchayats (AKMWP) to assist the implementation of COVID-19 appropriate behaviors in the district.
On opening and closure of markets, it was decided to curtail the movement of people in crowded places. The DTF entrusted KMC to work out the system for implementation of the same. It was also decided to curtail the timing of the market at Old MLA junction and KMC to strictly instruct the vendors to follow COVID-19 protocols.
On the preparedness level of ICU set up at Meriema COVID-19 Care Centre (CCC), Dr Sendimeren Aonok who recently joined as the Medical Superintendent NHAK informed on the status of ICU set up and few technical things have been projected to the department for necessary action, as per the DIPR report.
Meanwhile six ICU bed facilities prepared in the isolation ward at NHAK has been activated and functional with two critical patients admitted at present, it added.
In regard to power supply issue at Meriema CCC, the DTF decided to put up a proposal to the power department for uninterrupted power supply and also, as highlighted by MS NHAK, requirement of 80 KV generator back up was noted to be taken up with the concerned department for full set up of ICU at the centre.
The DC also informed that keeping the second wave throughout the country in view, certain measures have been initiated by DTF in regard to enforcement drive on mandatory wearing of masks, random sample collection in the district and thanked all concerned officials involved in the exercises for making it possible.
He also appreciated SDO (C) Sechü-Zubza for taking initiative in checking COVID-19 appropriate behavior along the national highway and hoped that other administrative officers would also follow suit in their respective areas.
