Kohima facing chaotic traffic

Commuters in Kohima are having a hard time as blockage of two important roads and the diversion of light vehicles from Dimapur to Peducha- Tsiesema road has triggered more traffic congestion.

The busy road from High School area to main town is witness to heavy almost unmoving traffic since vehicles coming from Dimapur, Tseminyu, Mokokchung, Wokha and Tuensang pass through this stretch. Many commuters are being forced to be stuck at this stretch for around 2 hours. Many taxis and mini buses decline to ply from town area towards High School area.

A taxi driver told The Morung Express that there is no problem of going down towards high school area. However, the problem is that it takes 2-3 hours to return to town area.

It may be recalled that Naga Hospital-Tinpatti road was completely cut off due to the recent monsoon related disasters. Another important road- Sanuoru sub way, leading to Nagaland Secretariat, Nagaland Legislative Assembly and 4th NAP battalion was also totally cut off.
