Kohima, June 4 (MExN): Little Flower Hr Sec School, Kohima organised a tree plantation drive cum cleanliness drive on June 1. This event was held simultaneously in two places - Sokhriezie Park, BOC, Kohima and LFHSS, Kohima, campus, stated a press release.
A total of 50 students (NSS volunteers) along with six teachers (two NSS POs, and four teachers), under the guidance of its Principal, Sr Lucy Thomas, undertook the cleanliness drive at Sokhriezie Park, BOC in Kohima, under the 'Laudato Si' project.

While 136 students, under the guidance of Sister Superior Adaphro Rosemary, four sisters, and eight teachers participated in the tree plantation drive cum cleanliness drive in and around the school campus.
Both events were graced by Chisayi, IFS, DFO, Nagaland Forest Department, Kohima.
The cleanliness drive at Sokhriezie Park was graced by Chisayi, IFS, DFO and his team along with Dr Sevono Seletsu, DCF, Kohima. Chisayi had a brief interaction with the participants and spoke on the World Environment Day 2024 theme, 'Land restoration, desertification, and drought resilience.’ He briefed the students on water conservation, energy conservation etc. and encouraged the students to be “Environmental Ambassadors.”

The cleanliness drive was accompanied by hisayi, IFS, DFO, Kohima and his team, Dr Sevono Seletsu, DCF, Kohima, and Sokhriezie Park Development and Management team.
The NSS volunteers (LFHSS) contributed potted plants and saplings to the park. The main purpose of the drive was to practice some goals of the ‘’Laudato Si: response to the cry of the earth, ecological emphasis on community involvement etc.”
Kikrulelie Suohu, Convenor, Sokhriezie Park and the Park Development and Management team lauded all the participants for their proactive participation and cooperation and further looked forward to more active participation in the days to come.
Light refreshment was provided to all the participants by the T Khel council.
