Kohima, May 5 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie has informed that private vehicles will be allowed to ply on odd-even system in the declared containment zones of Kohima Municipal Council and New Capital Complex.
Odd number days: On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, only vehicles with registration number ending with odd numbers (Eg: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9) shall be allowed to ply.
Even number days: On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, only vehicles with registration number ending with even numbers (Eg: 2, 4, 6, 8, 0) shall be allowed to ply.
Violation of the order will be liable to be penalised under Section 177 and 179 of the Motor Vehicle Act 1988, the DC’s order stated. This Order shall come into force with effect from 7:00 pm of May 5 and enforced for a period of 7 days, it added.
