Our Correspondent Kohima | September 16 The 8th Kohima District Open Table Tennis Tournament 2016 under the aegis of Kohima District Table Tennis Association (KDTTA) got underway here on Friday morning at Indoor TT Stadium. Gracing the inaugural function as the chief guest, Er. Keviletuo Yiese, Superintendent Engineer, Distribution & Revenue, Power Department, urged the players to devote their time and adopt constant practice in order to excel in the discipline of table tennis. He also stressed on the need to put heads together to promote and take the game of Table Tennis forward. Er. Yiese also expressed the need for Inter Colony tournaments and frequent coaching camps to promote the sport. KDTTA president Dr. Asalie Khezhie in his welcome address said the Association is trying its best to uplift the standard of table tennis in the district. He acknowledged the senior players for their support in this respect. The tournament will conclude on September 17.
