KPA fixed faculty ‘mistreated’ for 3 semesters

Zunheboto, September 12 (MExN): The fixed faculty of Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu (KPA) has reiterated that the “mistreatment of fixed faculties has been happening for the past three semesters” and that their “matters of concern have being given a deaf ears for the past 6 months despite the matter being in the knowledge of the Higher Authority.”

This was stated in a press release by the fixed faculty of the KPA today.

They noted that “Despite the verbal assurances from the Director Technical Education since April 2017, the matter is still kept pending despite several request and presentations from the faculty’s side.”

Noting that the faculty teaches at the institution for welfare of students as well as earn a livelihood, they maintained that “we are deprived of our basic needs due to the negligence and incompetence from the side of the directorate to look into our matters.”

In earlier cases, the fixed faculty revealed, “when the faculty approached the Higher Authority to release the pending legitimate wages, they were threatened with dire consequences if not adhered to their order.”

As a result of such lapses and “Due to the ongoing non-payment of wages, four faculties have resigned and some department is functioning with acute shortage of faculty for which the students are suffering the ultimate consequences.”
