Kohima, February 28 (MExN): The two-day trip of Kohima Press Club (KPC) to Mokokchung to meet Mokokchung Press Club (MPC) members concluded on Saturday. The KPC members also met Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Sushil Kumar Patel at his residence, a press release from KPC Joint Secretary, Ng. Solomon Sha informed.
In the course of interaction, KPC President Xavier Rutsa said that the tour aimed to foster good relationship among the press fraternity and also encourage each other in serving the public through the profession by moving out of the comfort zone. Rutsa also informed that the KPC members will visit the Dimapur Press Club in the coming days.
Meanwhile, the DC of Mokokchung informed the visiting team that the district is maintaining good relationship with the neighbouring state and the law and order has improved much except some petty issues. Patil said he is keeping good relationship with the Deputy Commissioner and people of Assam by meeting and interacting with them frequently to avoid any unwanted incident.
While lauding the job of the media in Nagaland, Patil also encouraged the media to play positive role in extending better cooperation by the public in government’s activities. He further informed that the administration is helping some students from neighbouring district to write their examination in Mokokchung Town due to the tense situation in their place. The DC also lauded the effort of district NGOs, public, media and police in extending their cooperation to maintain peace in the district, the release added.
District Public Relations Officer (DPRO) of Mokokchung and MPC General Secretary also accompanied the KPC members while meeting the Deputy Commissioner.
