Kohima, September 1 (MExN): Minister for Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Neiba Kronu has apprised the Director General, Border Roads Organization (BRO) of the deplorable condition of National Highway-29 and reminded him to start work on the road at the earliest, according to a press release.
Kronu met the Director General, Lt. Gen. SK Shrivastava at his office in New Delhi on September 1. National Highway-29 runs through different districts of Nagaland and also connects the State with Manipur.
The release mentioned that last year, former DG BRO S Sharma came to Nagaland and inspected the road at the request of Kronu.
However, even though assurances were given, construction of the roads is yet to start. In this regard, Kronu reminded the new DG (BRO) to start the works at the earliest and the latter assured to start the works after the monsoon is over, it added.
