
Dimapur, April 15 (MExN): The Kuki Students' Organisation Nagaland (KSON) toured Ahthibung and Khelma area from April 5 to 12 covering 19 Kuki villages. KSON President, Paotinsei Khongsai in a press release stated that during the tour, KSON visited schools in the villages and held interaction with respective GBs, VECs, VCCs, VDBs, YSU Unit, health sub centers staff with regard to the difficulties and obstacles faced by them.
The students’ union discovered that Khelma Sub Center (HSC) established on May 30, 2009 and veterinary in Khelma have been running without medicines. It was also learnt that the construction of GPS Chamcha building was halted and the parents are compelled to send their children mostly to Ahthibung Town and Jalukie Town for schooling. The need for early construction of GPS L. Lilen Village was also observed as there are good numbers of students in the school, the release said. Another observation was the shortage of teachers and fourth grade posts in some schools.
In these regards, the KSON has appealed to the departments concerned for post creation, to provide sufficient medicine to Khelma HSC, veterinary and expedite the completion of GPS Chamcha building construction and early construction of GPS L. Lilen Village.
During the tour, the students’ organization also appealed for contribution for the KSON Golden Jubilee Cum General Conference scheduled in December 2016 at Ahthibung Town.
