KSU demand justice over April 19 incident

DIMAPUR, MAY 2 (MExN): The Konyak Students’ Union (KSU) in reference to the statement made by Throngso Yimchungru (Former ENSF Speaker) which was published in the local dailies on April 29 under the caption “Apr 19 victim issue statement” has stated that it was compelled to express its utmost regret to what was termed as an act of uncivilized and a barbaric act inflicted upon the innocent citizen and a leader of Eastern Nagaland by some NSCN IM cadres.

“No Naga Political Group or individual should challenge the authority of the Eastern Leaders or the organization. Such defamatory speech and actions are never expected at any cause. The Union also appeals that if the matter is not rectified today then the situation will get even worst in the future”, stated a press note issued by Joseph Konyak, Vice President and Manwang Konyak, General Secretary KSU. 

The union extended full support on the stand of the ENPO and ENSF which is the two apex and frontal Organizations representing the 6(six) tribes of the Eastern Nagaland. It stated that all right thinking citizen must condemn such act of cowardice. The Union further appealed to the Collective Leadership of NSCN IM to intimate action taken report on the joint representation submitted by the frontal Organisation ENPO and ENSF and to consider the statement given by the victim on priority.  The union hoped that the culprits are given befitting punishment for their crime so that such act is never repeated in future. The Union stated that it was awaiting for justice on priority.
