Shamator, August 12 (MExN): Kihoto Theological College (KTC), Yakor Village, Shamator, run by the Yimkhiung Baptist Borü Amukhongto (YBBA), observed a Cultural Day on August 12 under the theme “Embracing Similarities, Celebrating Differences.”
Advisor, Youth Resources & Sports, S Keoshu Yimchunger, who attended as the special guest, acknowledged the college authorities for organising the programme and described it as meaningful in promoting cultural appreciation.
Yimchunger said Nagas should embrace and preserve all cultures irrespective of tribes, noting that people are related in various ways. He highlighted that KTC has students from eight different tribes, describing it as a reflection of the college’s growth and development.
He also noted that culture carries different significance in different contexts and stressed the need for Nagas to preserve traditions passed down through generations, irrespective of their professions.
The Advisor encouraged students to inherit positive practices from their forefathers, including simplicity, honesty, truthfulness, respect for elders and hard work, while continuing to preserve their traditions and culture, informed the State DIPR.
