The 15th general conference of the Kiphire Tuensang District Sumi Students’ Union (KTDSSU) commenced on March 5 at Sikiur ‘B’ village under the theme ‘Exceeding the vision’ with Likhumse Yingbdhongru, PS to Minister Power inaugurating the conference on behalf of the minister.
Addressing the conference, Likhumse asked the student leaders to be true leader and work for the welfare of the society and for the progress of the community. “As a leader we should not work with selfish motive but be an agent of change with the responsibilities we are assigned with so that the society will see peace and progress during our leadership,” said the PS.
Likhumse advised the students to always march for good and it should be two ways traffic so that the society will be a just society. Exhorting the students, Likhumse also said that in this competitive world holding degree alone and having backward quota will not help but one has to work hard to find a place to survive. He also encouraged the students to have quality education.
SKK President who also spoke on the occasion asked the gathering to be a channel of peace amongst tribe in the district, which has multi tribal populace. He also advised the gathering to know the value of time and asked them to make best use of it by blooming with time.
Kihikali Yeptho, Miss sumi 2014 chaired the programme while cultural display and folk dances were the other highlights.
