KTSSU questions ‘total negligence’ of DSE towards Kiphire dist

Kiphire, June 17 (MExN): Seeking proper facilities for the smooth functioning of schools in Kiphire, the Kiphire Town Sangtam Students’ Union (KTSSU) has taken the matter of non-delivery of LPG cylinder at schools under Kiphire district to the Directorate of School Education and sought a clarification.

While every GMS and GPS in other districts had been provided LPG cylinder with stove in the early part of 2006, the KTSSU stated, in the case of Kiphire district, the department had provided only stove and was yet to provide LPG cylinders despite having made assurances of providing them within the specified period. “But the district had left out once again despite the plea of ANSTA Kiphire unit after lapse of 8 months from the time of assurance given by the department,” stated the union’s president, Likhum, in a press release.

The Union further stated that it had “come to learn the total negligence of the department towards the Kiphire district and sound clarification why the Kiphire district is kept in a position to apprise to the department from time to time when others are being provided with no or less effort.” While seeking answers for the “total negligence”, the KTSSU advised the department to be better organised so as “to prevent confusion in the future”.
