Imphal, January 22 (NNN): With regard to the January 9 incident of Kangpokpi area where misunderstanding had cropped up between two groups of people which had also prompted in the assault of two persons, the meeting spearheaded by the Kuki Inpi, Manipur (KIM) and the United Naga Council (UNC) yesterday at Ngarian village in Bishenpur district, has amicably brought the solution.
The UNC and KIM along with the members of Town Committee of Kangpokpi, Zeliangrong Baudi (South Zone), ANSAM, KSO, families of the two victims and the elders of the villages concern have brought a solution in the meeting where it was agreed upon that according to the Zeliangrong customary law, the people involved in the beating of the two persons should compensate necessary cost.
The people involved in the assault of the two persons on January 9 in the Kangpokpi area have admitted their mistake, according to the leaders participated at the meeting at Ngarian on Monday. Mention may be made that tension had run high in the Sardar Hills area among the people after the January 9 incident.
