
Kohima, April 12 (MExN): The Naga Kuotsu Union held its 14th general conference with over 650 delegates from 26 different villages. The triennial conference was held at Zhadima Village Council Hall on April 9.
Zapuvisie Lhousa Kuotsu, the first Secretary of Naga Kuotsu Union, spoke about the closeness and affinity of Kuo-u descendants though scattered in various villages today, a press release from Naga Kuotsu Union President, Bizo M Kuotsu informed. He blessed upon all Kuo-u descendants to be successful in life and wished them well with good health and prosperity.
FP Solo Kuotsu exhorted the gathering to be farsighted and have a clear vision in life. He advised everybody to be hard working and set clear goal for future by emulating the life of their forefather Kuo-u. He expounded that every new discovery and invention evolve only from ordinary people, but from people with innovative and creative thinking who later become millionaire and billionaire. He also advised the gathering to be skillful in one’s own profession and work. Meanwhile, Dr. Niu Francis Whiso Kuotsu shared about his research knowledge on the life of Kuo-u. He mentioned about the construction of “Great Wall of China” which started during third Century BC and took over 2000 years for its completion by successive kings, where various tribes escaped to various places to avoid slavery. Accordingly, Nagas also escaped to various places in Assam, Manipur, Burma, and Kuo-u also came to Mekhrora-Khezhakeno-Kigwema-Kuozhüjou (present LFHSS site)-Khonoma where he breathed his last, he said. He also shared in depth about the genealogy of Kuo-u and settlement of his descendants to various villages today.
A special song and duet were presented by Phesama Village Kuotsu and a folk song in traditional attire was also presented by Zapami Village Kuotsu. A new team of office bearers for the tenure 2016-19 consisting 13 members from various villages was also declared. The team will be led by Er. Neisievilie Lhousa Kuotsu as President and Haikambe Haikam as General Secretary.
