KVYO supports demand for Lokayukta Bill

Kohima, September 26 (MExN): The Kohima Village Youth Organisation (KVYO) and ACAUT Nagaland had a joint sitting at KVYO office in Kohima on September 26.

The five-member ACAUT team led by Co-Convenor Joel Naga apprised the KVYO office bearers on the contentious issues confronting the State in general. The two organisations also dwelled at length on the resolutions adopted at the August 25 ACAUT Public Rally held in Dimapur.

KVYO extended support to the demands put forth to the Government of Nagaland through the Public Rally. “However, we are of the expressed opinion that considering the increasing cases of corruption without any check and balance in the functioning of the government, the pressing need of the hour is setting up of Lokayukta,” stated a press release from Dzuvlnguzo Mepfhuo, vice president, KVYO.

Therefore, in support of the Public Rally resolution demanding passage of Lokayukta Bill in the State Assembly by September 2017, KVYO urged the State government to fulfill the voice of the public.

Further, KVYO insisted upon the State Government to immediately fulfill the public demand for termination of all backdoor appointments made in every government department after June 6, 2016. It also asked the government to uphold the P&AR Order and requisition all such vacant posts to the NPSC.
