Labour dept expect to cover 4 lakh beneficiaries under RSBY

The State’s department of labour will continue implementation of Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY), the national health insurance scheme all over the state with renewal and issuances of the RBSY Smart cards targeting to cover all families under BPL, AAY and job card holders under MNREGA scheme beginning from 2012. It is expected that at least 4 lakh beneficiary families will be covered under the scheme by the end of March 2013 providing free medical services. This was stated in the annual administrative report of the labour department tabled in the just concluded assembly session by parliamentary secretary for labour Dr. Nicky Kire. The department is further looking forward to empanel more hospitals so as to provide better and door step free medical services to the respective RSBY beneficiary families within the state, the report said.
