Lackadaisical attitude of SCC on oil towards other tribes

As publish in the local paper date 28/05/12: Meet on oil & Natural gas development: A joint meeting between SCC and the Lotha general public we the oil field owner of Hozukhe village under Niuland Sub- division Dimapur welcomes the Government sincerity towards achieving mutual agreement in giving due respect of Oil field Owner and the subsequent assurance by Minister of Planning and co-ordination, animal, T.R. Zeliang sated at Lotha hoho ki, Dimapur that the people will be given “Loin’s share”.

However, the exploration and survey has been done by ONGC in various parts of Nagaland and not only in Lotha area. As such, it would be wise on the part of State Cabinet committee to invite representative of all oil field Owner to come to conclusive appending in the draft.

It’s pertinent because on May 9’ 12 local paper Quoting member-secretary of the Cabinet Sub Committee on Petroleum and Natural Gas said that CSC on PNG was in the process of bringing out modalities that would be uniformly applicable throughout Nagaland and therefore, the matter has to be handled carefully in order to “avoid repeating past mistakes”.

Hence, avoiding other genuine oil field owner and picking up only certain tribe to frame modalities and made applicable throughout Nagaland will be unwise and unfair on the part of the SCC because all oil field owner of Nagaland has in one way or other way not fairly treated or represented and make aware of their rights when any type of agreement was made.

Therefore, it is humble request to SCC that due arrangement for consultation must also given to all other tribe oil land owner so that none is left behind with grievances and “avoid repeating past mistakes” as in the past only little or no expert committee was ever set up to assist for the interest of poor tribal oil land but exploited mercilessly with most readymade agreement.
