Nakachari, April 10 (MExN): A newly constructed church at Lahing Koilajungle in Nakachari under Jorhat district was dedicated by Rev. Dr. Lima Jamir, Professor, Eastern Theological College, Jorhat on April 8. Puspo Sawra, Pastor of Hingbolia Baptist Church, shared on how the church at Lahing Koilajungle was founded. Rohit Tudo and his family had been attending Hingbolia Baptist Church located 8 km away from his village for the past 17 years. Gradually another family from his locality embraced Christ and they decided to build a Church of their own. Tudo and his family donated a plot of land adjacent to their residence. They managed to erect 8 cemented posts but with resources running dry, they approached members of the Assam Valley Baptist Mission (AVBM) to come to their aid. At this, the Assam Valley Baptist Mission (AVBM) connected the family members of Tekameri and Lanuchuba Mission based in Dimapur and thus, the construction of the church could come to a reality. A host of believers and church leaders from the surrounding churches partook in the dedication service. Akang Longkumer exhorted the gathering on behalf of Tekameri and Lanuchuba mission. During the programme, Gopin Ghatwal was installed as Youth Pastor for AVBM by Rev. Dr. Lima Jamir. Ghatwal, whose studies were fully sponsored by Kumlong Baptist Church (KBC), Mokokchung, has successfully completed Bible diploma from Impur Bible School (IBS) in December last. KBC Mokokchung has also committed to sponsor Ghatwal’s salaries too.
