Dimapur, May 23 (MExN): The permanent residents (Land Owners) of Signal Angami Village under Block I, II, III and IV have strongly objected to the directives issued by the Signal Angami Village Council (SAVC). The council has earlier directed all the permanent residents of Signal Angami Village holding land patta to renew/replace the provisional patta on or before April 30, 2009. The permanent residents of the said blocks has issued a press release signed by 24 members and issued by N. T Thamlong Phom, General Secretary, Joint Forum Committee, Block I, II, III and IV.
The permanent residents strongly object to the new directive as “the validity of the Patta is fixed for five years only, which is unacceptable, illegal and flawed because the lands have been bought on permanent basis and not on limited terms or years.” Therefore, the forum on behalf of the permanent residents of Signal Angami Village under Block I, II, III and IV to “withdraw and nullify the notice issued through press release only, since the directive was given through press release for the benefit and peaceful co-existence of all the inhabitants of diverse community of Signal Angami Village, Dimapur.”
