Landslides block roads in Ghotovi

Dimapur, July 14 (MExN): Massive landslides owing to torrential rain caused road blockages at many locations in Ghotovi Village area under Niuland subdivision, Dimapur.   According to a press release from the Ghotovi Village Council, the road, which is one of the busiest road connecting the surrounding villages, now wears a deserted look.   The economy of the surrounding villages has also been crippled to a large extent, the village council stated. The road is the main lifeline connecting Niuland town and Bokajan in the plains, and Ghotovi and Hovishe villages under Dimapur district. According to the village council, the road also connects Zhadima and Phekekriema villages in Kohima district, Tsosenyu and Lokeshunyu villages under Tsemenyu subdivision, and Yenkeli village under Wokha District.   In this regard, the village council has appealed to the Department of Disaster Management to intervene in the matter and do the needful for early restoration of the said road.
