Dimapur, January 19 (MExN): Mokokchung and Dimapur won their respective matches at the ongoing 1st Late G Rio Memorial U-19 (Boys) inter district tournament on January 19.
In the first match of the day, Mokokchung defeated Kohima by 47 runs.
Batting first, Mokokchung scored 169 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 25 overs. An unbeaten 86 runs by Nripen Rai propelled the team while Mughavi added 28 runs.
Chasing the target, Kohima scored 122 for five in 25 overs. Captai Samuel Zaputou 35 (not out) and Micheal Zaputou with 18 runs, were the top scorers for Kohima.
The second match of the day was disrupted by rain in the first 22nd over, necessitating the introduction of Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method.
When the match stopped, Tuensang were 126 for 6 in 22 overs with captain Jongpongmar Ao at 34* runs. His teammate Rajesh also scored 30 runs.
With DLS method, the target was revised to 137 in 22 overs.
Dimapur reached the target in just 12.2 overs and won the match by 7 wickets. Skipper Tohuka Zhimo led the chase with 56 runs while Yugandhar added 32 runs and Mhalevor Dzeyie finished unbeaten with 19 runs.
The tournament, held under the aegis of Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA), will conclude on January 26 at NCA Stadium, Sovima Village.

1st Match (7:30 AM) : Mokokchung Vs Tuensang
2nd Match (11:45 AM) : Dimapur Vs Kohima
