Kohima, January 19 (MExN): LaunchPad Phase 2 was conducted at Dr Neilhouzhü Kire GHSS, Kohima on January 18 and 19. An initiative of the Department of Youth Resources and Sports, the programme will be implemented by YouthNet with the support of the Department of School Education, Government of Nagaland.
During the opening ceremony of the 2nd Phase, a press release from Nuneseno Chase, Director- Programs, YouthNet stated that Libemo Jami, Public Relation Officer, Department of Youth Resources and Sports spoke on the importance of career development to the students.
“Class 12 being an important crossroad for students, it is imperative to prepare oneself with a definite career plan and also understand the scenario of work and opportunities available in Nagaland and beyond,” he noted.
‘LaunchPad’ is a career guidance and employability skill development program explicitly designed for students pursuing their 12th standard in all Government Higher Secondary Schools across Nagaland. The LaunchPad team will be touring all the 12 districts from January, 2021 onwards with the objective to guide the students discover their ideal path explore various education and training opportunities, and prepare them for the world of work.
The topics to be covered in Phase 2 are: introduction and exploring the world of work; importance of higher education, vocational educational and skill development; building a career, tools to assess suitability, resume writing and interview etiquette.
