LDLSA and St. Mary’s School celebrates Teacher’s Day

 Longleng, September 4 (MExN): Longleng District Legal Services Authority (LDLSA) celebrated Teacher’s Day in collaboration with St. Mary’s School at the School hall on September 4.  

Speaking on ‘Right to Education’, Retainer Lawyer LDLSA, A Mane Phom appraised that the Government of India has enacted the ‘Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act’ in 2009 to ensure the right to free and compulsory primary school education to all children.  

Mane Phom appraised that the free and compulsory education is applicable equally to the age group of six to fourteen years and children will be guaranteed their rights to quality elementary education by the state with the help of families and communities.  

PLV, Front Office LDLSA, C. Imlichuba Phom spoke on ‘Prohibition of smoking’, Superintendent Observation Home, Kezevinuo Thepa spoke on ‘child rights’. Earlier, welcome address was delivered by Head Master, St. Mary’s school Longleng. The programme was chaired by PLV Longleng, Khatvang Phom. Around 100 attended the celebration, including teachers, students, and staff of the school and LDLSA members.
