Let Christ be born in your hearts, believers exhorted

Dimapur, December 27 (MExN): Along with the rest of the Christian world, Mar Gregorios Orthodox Church (MGO), Midland, Dimapur also celebrated Christmas.  

It started with Saturday evening prayer followed by Sunday night vigil along with special Christmas service and Holy Qurbana were conducted at the church on December 25.  

"Christ must be born in our heart. We have to make a manger in our heart for infant Jesus," exhorted Vicar Rev. Fr.P.S.varghese, who lead the services.  

After seeing Christ, we should not walk on our old ways of hatred, old ways of jealousy, pride etc. and en route to the new ways of Christian fellowship while at the same time being humble before the God, he noted.  

After the service Christmas cake distributed to all. Vicar also informed that to share the Christmas joy they will be visiting Neighbor hood orphanage on tomorrow.  

St Xavier's Catholic Church Kidima: St Xavier’s Catholic Church of Kidima Parish, Diocese of Kohima celebrated Christmas with a traditional spiritual preparation which began from December 16 with novena for the nativity of Jesus Christ on 25 at the church premises.  

Reverend Thomas Muttathil, Parish Priest in the introductory words said God is the Father of future ages for our well-being and salvation.   Father Muttathil in his sermon said that God has given a great gift His own beloved Son Jesus Christ and explained the meaning of Christmas that God has given more important to family and society life.   He also urged the faithful people to welcome Christ in their life, and extend their service to others. The Parish Priest also requested the people to allow giving birth of Jesus on them.  

Novena and rosary prayer, honouring Christmas crib, confession, baptism, sprinkle of holy water to faithful people, Eucharist celebration, Holy Bible reading followed by community feast were the main features of the celebration. Special numbers were presented by Menesel Felicitus; Edikunu Patricia and Vikusale and friends and Kidima Catholic Youth Association.  

Lotha Baptist Church Diphupar (LBCD): Joining the rest of the world, the Lotha Baptist Church Diphupar (LBCD) celebrated its 45th Christmas day on December 25.  

Pastor LBCD, Limhathung Lotha who was the main speaker on the occasion spoke on the topic "We are children of God.  

“Since God has made us His children, He has sent His only Son to save us and to give us new life. Therefore, we must live a life acceptable to God and let others see the beauty of Jesus through us,” he exhorted the congregation.  

Other highlights of the programme included special Christmas rendition by the church choir and Christmas 2017 host group. Renthunglo Patton read the Scripture while associate Pastor, Wopansao led the congregation. Christmas 2017 of LBCD was hosted by Church Colony B.
