Lhisemia Students’ Union open futsal tourney in Kohima

In commemoration of 75th year of Lhisemia Students’ Union, an open futsal tourney commenced at Niathu Sports Club, Khikha on April 21.
The tourney is categorised into two groups: Amateur Category (Class 10 & below) where 8 teams are participating. The champion team will receive a cash prize of Rs 7,000 while the runners-up will win Rs 5,000 richer. In the open category, 12 teams are taking part. The champion will win Rs 15,000, while the runners-up will win Rs 10,000. The winners will also receive citation and trophy. All the trophies are sponsored by Atou Yhome.
The opening ceremony was graced by Mathew Yhome, President, Kohima District Football Association as the special guest. Dziesekhrietuo Khruomo chaired the programme while Kekuolhouthie Dzüvichü invoked God's blessing. Viliebeizo Liezietsu, Convener, Sport Committee briefed the gathering about the tourney.
Four matches in the amateur category were played today. In the 1st match TSU (A) defeated PSU in Tie Breaker (4-3); in 2nd match LSU (B) defeated DSU (B) by 2 goals to 1; in 3rd match DSU (A) defeated LSU (C) by 2 goals to nil; in 4th match TSU (B) defeated LSU (A) by 8 goals to 4.
In the open category and 5th match of the evening, Red Hornets defeated Kekhawakhrie by 8 goals to 4; in 6th match A Yhome FC defeated Unified FC by 3 goals to 1; in 7th match, Dzülouzou FC defeated Samurai FC 5-0 while in the last match of the day, Khrietho FC defeated Lozi FC 5-1.
The tourney will continue till April 22.
