Dimapur, December 20 (MExN): Lhothavi villagers today protested in front of the NSCN (IM) Ceasefire Monitoring Cell (CFMC) office in Diphupar here against taking away of an elephant from the village by NSCN (IM) cadres.
In a memorandum submitted to the Ato Kilonser of NSCN (IM) through the CFMC office, the Lhothavi Village Council alleged that on December 18 night, some cadres of NSCN (IM) on the directives of the Kilo Kilonser, Secretary (Kilo Affairs) to the NSCN/GPRN, and the CAO of Asalu Region took away the elephant at gunpoint from Lhothavi village without informing the custodian of the same.
Therefore, the council while expressing strong resentment against such “highhandedness of the officials unbecoming of the national workers” has urged the Ato Kilonser for returning the elephant to the custodian and taking appropriate action against the erring officials.
The memorandum was appended by Lhothavi Village Council secretary, Ahoi Chophi and chairman, Khazhezu Yepthomi.
