Delegates, resource person and Liangmai Baptist Association officials during the Bible Study-cum-Board Meeting at the Liangmai Baptist Mission Centre in Tening on August 4.
Tening, August 4 (MExN): The Men Department of the Liangmai Baptist Association (LBA) held a two-day Bible Study-cum-Board Meeting at the Jubilee Memorial Hall, Mission Centre, Tening Town, from August 3 to 4 under the theme, "What is that in your hand?" based on Exodus 4:2.
The programme was organised by the LBA Men Department and attended by 72 representatives from member churches across Nagaland.
Missions Director of the Angami Baptist Church Council (ABCC), Apfukru Dolie, who served as the resource person, delivered Bible studies based on the life of Moses and encouraged participants to use their God-given gifts in serving the church.
Referring to Exodus 4:2, Dolie said God often uses ordinary things already in a person's possession to accomplish extraordinary purposes. Citing Moses' staff as an example, he said what was initially an ordinary walking stick became an instrument through which God performed miracles and led the Israelites out of Egypt.
Drawing from the biblical account, he urged members of the LBA Men Department to dedicate and consecrate themselves to God, saying He could similarly use their gifts to strengthen the ministry and accomplish greater works.
During the meeting, delegates resolved to establish a formal organisational structure for the LBA Men Department. The house unanimously entrusted three members with the responsibility of serving on a committee to identify and recommend office bearers.
The meeting also resolved to organise a couples' seminar, range-wise discipleship training programmes for fathers, and a Men's Camp 2026.
LBA Men Department Secretary Rev N K Joseph called upon fathers to work diligently in their respective churches as "God's army men" to strengthen the church and reach out to those yet to embrace the Christian faith. He also encouraged churches to organise more activities for men's ministry.
