Kohima, February 15 (MExN): The Youth Leadership and Personality Development Programme for the rural youth got underway today at Kigwema Panchayat Hall with Dominic Yazokie, Joint Director Information & Public Relation as the chief guest.
The Chief Guest exhorted the youth to live their best to fulfill the dream of their parents. He compares the live with a relay race, which everyone performed his own part to reach the baton to the next. He called upon the youth to judiciously use the locally available rich resources and converge it to their benefits.
He also highlighted the potentials of the area and stressed on to the need for good Net Working between individuals, villages, District and communities, saying it is necessary for success of any business ventures.
Delivering a keynote address, John Makhabo, DYC, NYK Kohima called upon the youth to make the best use of this programme as this programme can definitely launch the youth on the right platform.
The programme is part of one month long training under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Government of India and organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan in which 38 educated young leaders from the neighboring villages of Khuzama, Viswema, Jakhama, Kigwema, Mima, Phesama, and Pfuchama are attending the same.
The youth Leadership development programme will continue till March 14, wherein emphasis is given on competency development with the objectives to bring the youth leaders together so that they can share their experiences and exchange ideas, to create critical awareness and understanding of social dynamics of the rural communities to make conceptual clarity and necessity of the concept as and practical aspects of convergence, empowerment, and self employment enterprises. To provide the youth leaders basic skills of life. To impart necessary information and implementation procedure for state government programs and Central government programs and scheme mean for youth development.
Based on the need of the youth and area of interest, field experts from the Government Departments/ Agencies will be invited for interaction with the participating youths, exposure to the farms and industries will form parts of the training programme to equip the youth to be able to lead the youth and take up one’s own life. Various eminent resource persons will be rope into to animate the training programme.
